Air Conditioning Services in London

There’s nothing quite as refreshing as stepping into a cool, comfortable home on a hot, humid summer day. It’s a sensation we’ve enjoyed since 1902 when modern air conditioning was invented by Willis Carrier. For most people, it’s hard to imagine life without it.

Home air conditioning systems are available in three main categories: traditional split-system AC units, packaged air conditioners and ductless systems. Each of these operate by the same basic process to lower the temperature and dehumidify the air in our homes. They all require an evaporator coil, a condenser coil, a compressor and refrigerant to essentially pull heat and humidity out of the home while returning cooler air to your living spaces. Regardless of which type of system works best for your home, correctly sizing it will provide the best results in comfort, performance and energy-efficiency.

Today’s air conditioners are available in single-stage, two-stage and multi-stage models. Think of cooling stages as gears on a bicycle or a car. Single-stage models are like a bicycle with one gear. It’s great on a flat stretch of road, but takes a lot more energy to go up a steep hill. Two-stage models add a second gear, one to handle every day cooling needs, and a second gear to provide additional cooling as needed. Multi-stage air conditioners are like cruise control on your car, adjusting up and down as needed to provide comfort and efficiency as weather conditions change.

Air conditioners are typically rated two ways: cooling capacity and energy efficiency. When you ask the question, “what size AC unit do I need?” you’ll be interested in cooling capacity as measured in BTUH or tons. To compare energy efficiency between different AC units, you’ll usually look for the SEER, or Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio, which is kind of like the air conditioner version of Km per Litre for a car.

When you turn to the Carrier experts at Zed-Air Heating and Air Conditioning for your home comfort system needs, you’ll find a comprehensive selection of air conditioners designed to fit any home and nearly any budget. Of course, the cost of a new air conditioner often reflects the comfort benefits, performance and length of warranties.

Some Things to Consider When Purchasing a New Air Conditioner:

Has your home been cool enough in the summer?

How long do you intend to keep your house?

Do you see yourself enjoying your system for years, or are you upgrading your system to increase the resale value of your home?

Have you considered investing more money in your equipment now to save money in long-term energy costs?

Are you looking to save on your up-front equipment costs?

How important is air quality to you?

Does anyone at home suffer from asthma, allergies?

Do you have pets in your home?

Is controlling the humidity something you have considered?

Here Are Some of Our Featured Products

AC Infinity 19VS

If There’s an Air of Superiority to These Units, It’s Because They’re the Quietest, Most Efficient AC Units We Make

The Infinity 19VS is different in a lot of ways. It offers variable-speed compression that can step down in 5 stages to as low as 25% of its capacity. That's huge from a comfort perspective. The ability to run in lower speeds most of the time makes it quieter and more adept at removing humidity and keeping temperatures even. Plus, those lower speeds are the sweet spot for the unit's best efficiency levels and for getting the most benefit out of other systems you might have like an air purifier because of more constant air flow through the system.

AC Infinity 2 Stage 17 Seer

Infinity® Series Air Conditioners

With the Infinity 17 air conditioner you can have two-stage compressor comfort that lets the system bring up the cool if needed while functioning mostly in low-stage where you enjoy the highest efficiency and amazing dehumidification.

It's also generally quieter in low stage and, if paired with an Infinity variable-speed indoor unit and an Infinity control, this cooling system can provide even smarter energy and comfort management.

AC Performance Series

Performance™ Series Air Conditioners

Presenting a reliable, energy-efficient and quiet way to cool your space—no matter how much space you have.

Both types can operate more quietly than most dishwashers and offer impressive SEER ratings.

Performance series air conditioners offer that perfect balance between budget limits you may have today and your desire for long-term energy saving.

Ac Comfort Series

Comfort™ Series Air Conditioners

The Comfort series of air conditioners is designed to give you simple, efficient and affordable cooling.

Pair them with the right, SEER-boosting indoor unit and you can enjoy the money-saving benefits of improved efficiency.

Cased Coil

Cased Coil - The Perfect Complement to Your Heat Pump or Air Conditioner

Okay, so maybe an evaporator coil isn’t exactly the kind of purchase you’re dying to show off to your friends and family.

But if you like your air conditioner or heat pump to perform at its highest-possible level of efficiency, it’s a difference everyone’s sure to notice.
